Over 20 Years of Animal Welfare Experience

From when I was very small, I always actively participates in animal welfare and handling. When my parents opened their first store together, I loved working to make sure the animals were clean, healthy, cuddly, and most of all happy. A well balanced pet with great boundaries and lots of love can be life saving, literally.

I worked at a zoo through High School as an animal handler and docent. But one day, my life changed drastically. I was diagnosed with 3 different kinds of cancer, all of which left me debilitated and at a serious loss for the direction I was taking my life. Then, I met Jenji.

Jenji was too young to be sold, and far too young to be separated from her mother. She had been sitting in the back of a truck with no water in the middle of an El Paso summertime.

There's No Place like Home

We fought for her life over the next few months, she was left severely damaged by the people who had behaved so poorly. Jenji brought me and my husband new life. She was so smart, and so sweet. She made our happy family a happier one, even in the dark times.

I started working for a big box store, and while there, I watched for these connections, so similar to mine. I wanted everyone to have the kind of family member that we did. Once in awhile though, we would get a problem pup, a pup whose parents loved them so much, but they would forget that like all family, they needed boundaries. I set off on this journey to help them, and to bring that connection that everyone should have with their pet.
